{"id":171,"date":"2009-12-12T18:52:18","date_gmt":"2009-12-13T01:52:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.f15sim.com\/?p=171"},"modified":"2009-12-12T18:52:18","modified_gmt":"2009-12-13T01:52:18","slug":"working-towards-the-sfs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f15sim.com\/?p=171","title":{"rendered":"Working towards the SFS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today I finished hunting down the missing 5 1&#8243; oil &amp; hydraulic instruments I couldn&#8217;t find last weekend.\u00a0 Of course, they showed up in the last box I could search.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the result of my search &amp; sorting operation:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.f15sim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/f15-components.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-172\" title=\"f15-components\" src=\"https:\/\/www.f15sim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/f15-components.jpg\" alt=\"f15-components\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The design for the Stick Force Sensor box is completed.\u00a0 The SFS box is just about 1.75&#8243; thick.\u00a0 Because I didn&#8217;t want to build it from acrylic or a block of aluminum, I needed to laminate four layers of 1\/2&#8243; Baltic Birch plywood together.\u00a0 This will give me a raw material thickness of a little more than 1.9&#8243;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.f15sim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/laminated_stock.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-173\" title=\"laminated_stock\" src=\"https:\/\/www.f15sim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/laminated_stock.jpg\" alt=\"laminated_stock\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The block is 24&#8243; long and 8&#8243; wide.\u00a0 This will give me enough raw material to build two SFS boxes.\u00a0 One will go into the F-15 and one will go into my Me-109E\/X cockpit.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve got some new cutters on order and as soon as they arrive I&#8217;ll get the ShopBot to work on making the SFS boxes.<\/p>\n<p>How&#8217;s THIS for a fancy light? \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.f15sim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/sidewinder.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-174\" title=\"sidewinder\" src=\"https:\/\/www.f15sim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/sidewinder.jpg\" alt=\"sidewinder\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today I finished hunting down the missing 5 1&#8243; oil &amp; hydraulic instruments I couldn&#8217;t find last weekend.\u00a0 Of course, they showed up in the last box I could search.
