This is the Emergency Canopy Release handle.  When the pilot pulls this to the
down position, it fires a set of explosive charges that will fling the canopy 
clear of the aircraft.  It is used if the standard canopy control isn't
working and the pilot needs to get out _now_.  This is the same system that's
automatically fired when the ejection seat handles are pulled.



This particular example came from a cockpit procedures trainer and Rob has
done a great job in repainting it!

The handle has a set of holes drilled for a safety pin.  If anyone happens to
have a safety pin & flag that will fit, please let me know!
